Creep
Artist: M. Sommers
Year: 2000
Notes: Another evolution in audio. I got excited again about the prospect of manipulating soundwaves. Acoustic recordings start figuring more promenantly in the recipie. Snippets of noises start creeping in. Sound becomes composition becomes art. This album contains my first stab at a vocal-based pop song in a long time, "Crazy", which became a Lines of Nazca favorite. A cut-up John Lennon interview is the basis for "Revolution 10". The acoustic track "Just Guitar" was originally played over "Rev 10", but sounded better just by itself. "Environmentally Retarded" is the sound track to an art installation piece by Lisa Ruth. The voice on "Rotation" is an instructor from my son's school.
